Universal Design for Learning at SUNY provides resources for faculty to create an inclusive learning environment. UDL principles benefit all learners and help students with engagement, multiple methods of learning, and multiple methods of assessment.

Intended Audience: SUNY Faculty and Instructional Designers 

Course Description: This online, self-paced workshop provides an in-depth introduction to the Universal Design for Learning framework. Participants will learn why the Universal Design for Learning framework is important, how to apply its principles and guidelines to their own courses, and best practices for interacting with students with disabilities. Participants of this workshop will leave with the skills and resources to apply what they learn about Universal Design for Learning to design a new lesson or student experience, or to revise an existing lesson or experience.

Digital Accessibility Courses - Deque University

Deque University provides courses to support faculty and staff to increase their understanding of accessibility. The subscription to these content are currently free to SUNY colleges. Anyone interested in accessing the courses and modules should complete the registration request form

Electronic Information and Technology Accessibility

In compliance with the SUNY Electronic and Information Technology (EIT) Accessibility Policy, Buffalo State created the Campus and Electronic Information Accessibility Committee. The committee was charged by the President with creating and implementing a 5-year, Buffalo State Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility Plan.

The campus community is encouraged to review the plan which addresses the five pillars as required by SUNY:

  1. Web Accessibility Standards (WAS)
  2. Digital Content Accessibility Standards (DCAS)
  3. Classroom Accessibility Standards (CAS)
  4. Library Accessibility Guidelines (LAG)
  5. Procurement Accessibility Conformance Standards (PACS)
